Perimenopause Unwrapped – Day 8

Medicine Circle

The Medicine Circle is an embodied journey through the Menstrual Seasons and the purpose is to ground and to support your perimenopause process.

When is a good time for the Medicine Circle?

The Circle experience can be deep and searching so we advise that you do not listen to the Circle recording while you are bleeding or when feeling particularly vulnerable. Any other time in your cycle is fine.

Your intention for the Circle is…

“How can I bring compassion to myself today?”

If this doesn’t work for you, you may want to craft your own intention.

Before you listen to the recording

  1. Allow an hour when you won’t be disturbed.
  2. Don’t forget to turn off the notifications on your phone.
  3. You will need a pen, this Support Book or your journal,
  4. Write down your intention in your journal or support book.
  5. Something to drink and something grounding to eat (nuts or chocolate are great).

What happens in a Medicine Circle?

Once you’ve got comfy with everything you need, we will guide you to step into the centre of your cycle and then travel from winter, through all the seasons and back to winter again. We briefly revisit the centre and close the process by stepping out of the cycle.

There’s no wrong way to do this!

Medicine Circle

It’s helpful to feel into your experience of being in the process in the moment, rather than your lived experience of your cycle, so new information can emerge. Everyone does it differently; you may be more visual, auditory, feel sensation in your body, have memories or thoughts or experience energy shifts.

If you find that you’re getting lost in your thoughts, come back to the guidance on the audio.

Everything that happens in the Circle is useful information.

It’s common to feel lost or confused in a Medicine Circle, this is not getting it wrong. It’s a common experience in perimenopause and very helpful to notice where this is occurring within your Circle. Similarly, when you have interruptions or get distracted, notice with a kind heart when this happens and what may have triggered this within your Circle experience.

You can access the Medicine Circle audio here

After the Circle

Have a drink and eat something grounding.

Take some time to journal, draw or note down your experience. Anything you remember is relevant, you don’t have to remember everything. There will be a chance to reflect more deeply on your experience over the next two days.

You can now return to the main course menu or continue to day 9
